Fans Think Elliot Page Should Replace Ezra Miller As DCEU's The Flash

Could Elliot be the next star of The Flash?

Maybe Warner Bros should be running to cast Elliot Page as The Flash… as quickly as possible!

Unless you’ve been living under the rock, you probably know the dire situation that is going on with actor Ezra Miller, which is putting at risk the upcoming standalone film The Flash. While Warner Bros is currently staying committed to the movie’s scheduled release date of June 2023, Miller seems to keep getting into deeper and deeper trouble in their personal life.

As a result, prominent voices in the media – as well as fans – are looking for potential actors who could replace Miller in the role of Barry Allen when it comes to the DC Extended Universe franchise. Recently, Page’s name came up as a potentially great replacement for The Flash.

Fangirlish’s Lissete Lanuza Sáenz wrote in a tweet:

“Just want to take this moment to say Elliot Page would make a great Barry Allen, in case there’s ever a need to, you know, cast a new Flash, for whatever reason.”

Sáenz’s tweet currently has nearly 55,000 likes and over 3,700 retweets, which means that a lot of people have clearly agreed with this fan-casting idea. On the other hand, many DCEU fans have also disagreed that Page would make a great Barry Allen.

“I can’t see [it], Elliot is a great actor and all, just maybe not for the Flash,” one popular response to the tweet read. Many other replies also noted that Grant Gustin, who played Barry Allen for so many years on The CW’s The Flash, should finally be the chosen actor to play this character in the DCEU franchise.

In any case, Warner Bros is still committed to releasing The Flash starring Miller in 2023. The film is supposed to serve as a “reset button” for the DCEU after so many casting changes have been made to the franchise, but only time will tell if the character of Barry Allen will also be recast.

The Flash is scheduled to open in theaters on June 23, 2023.
