Woman Cop Shoots Ex, Kills Ex's Suspected Lover in Fatal Love Triangle

Female Cop Shoots Ex Kills Ex's Suspected Lover in Fatal Love Triangle

“I told you not to mess with me!”

A female NYPD officer was charged yesterday with the attempted murder of her ex-girlfriend and the murder of her ex's new lover.

Yvonne Wu, 31, was arrested after she allegedly admitted to the double shooting of her ex Jenny Li, 23, and Li's new love interest, Jamie Liang, 24. Police said they received multiple calls about a shooting in Brooklyn Wednesday evening. When police arrived, they allegedly found Wu seated calmly outside the apartment.

"'I shot them both. The gun's inside,' calm as can be," Wu said according to an inside police source who spoke with the New York Post.

Once inside the apartment, they found Liang on the floor of the living room suffering from a gunshot wound to her chest. Li was found in the bedroom with a gunshot wound to her torso. Both victims were rushed to Maimonides Medical Center. Liang later passed away while Li remains in serious but stable condition according to Post sources.

"She didn't say anything," neighbor Rocco Perna, 44, told the Post about Wu's arrest. "She was so quiet. No emotions, nothing. She was handcuffed and they put her in the car, that was it. She didn't fight back or nothing. Didn't say a word."

A police source who heard the 911 calls said a woman, allegedly Wu could be heard in the background yelling "I told you not to mess with me!"

"No, please! No, please!" another woman can be heard in the background before four gunshots rang out.

Wu, a five-year NYPD veteran, was upset about the couple's breakup following a two-year relationship, according to NYPD assistant chief Michael Kemper at a press briefing. He told reporters Wu was inside Li's empty apartment when she arrived with her Liang, her new lover.

Police sources said they were stunned by the charges and described Wu as quiet and diligent, noting she had four medals and received good performance evaluations.

"This is a shock," a police source said. "Wu was a quiet, sweet person."

"This is out of left field," another police source said.

Friends of Liang have set up a GoFundMe page to help her family cover the funeral expenses.
