13 Celebrities Who Came Out As Bisexual in 2021

Bi visibility is increasing in Hollywood — and beyond!

Bisexual Celebrities Who Came Out in 2021

#BiWeek has officially begun, and although we've come a long way in years past, there is still a lot of work that needs to be done in order for bisexual people to feel fully and wholly accepted as a part of society and the LGBTQ+ community (bi erasure, especially against men, is, unfortunately, still a thing y'all). Lucky for us, some of our favorite folks in the highly visible entertainment industry have decided to share their truths with the world and are helping make it easier for everyone, especially other bi folks, to be their most authentic selves!

In honor of the start of Bisexual Awareness Week, here's are 13 bi celebs who came out this year and who are helping to make the world a more open and accepting place!

    Maddie Hasson

Bisexual Celebrities Who Came Out in 2021

Taking part in the "Post a pic of..." trend that took over Instagram stories in January, actress Maddie Hasson (who fans mostly know from the Freeform series Twisted and the YouTube series Impulse) publicly came out as bisexual after sharing a selfie with the caption "Hi, I'm bi and proud!" when asked by a fan to post a pic that gave off a "gay/bi vibe."

    Adelaide Kane

Bisexual Celebrities Who Came Out in 2021

Reign and Teen Wolf actress Adelaide Kane came out as bisexual in a February TikTok post.

"Me super nervous to come out publicly as bisexual to the people in my life & social media," reads the caption of Kane's coming-out TikTok, where Michael Buble's song "Haven't Met You Yet" can be heard playing in the background.

    Kayla Braxton

Bisexual Celebrities Who Came Out in 2021

WWE's Friday Night SmackDown correspondent and interviewer Kayla Braxton posted a heartfelt message about her sexuality to her now-deleted Twitter account in early March. The 27-year-old media personality (who co-hosts the WWE's weekly social media talk show The Bump) proudly and publicly announced that she is bisexual, saying "my whole life, I've had to choose. Are you black? Are you white? Which bubble do you fill in on the SATs? I always filled in "other" because nothing applied to me. Tonight, I choose to be over having to choose. Hello world. I'm Kayla. Oh. And yeah - I'm Bi."

    Ronen Rubinstein

Bisexual Celebrities Who Came Out in 2021

Actor Ronen Rubinstein, best known for playing gay firefighter/paramedic T.K. Strand on FOX's LGBTQ-inclusive TV series 9-1-1: Lone Star, publicly opened up about his bisexuality in an April interview with Variety.

"I fully identify as bisexual," Ronen told the trad pub. "I literally just got goosebumps saying that. It feels so good to talk about it, it feels so good to finally be comfortable with it."

    He continued:

"The biggest thing for me is where I come from, it's like people like me and people who have identified as bisexual or gay or as any part of the community, you're just not welcomed. It's as brutally honest as that. It's either you faced insane amounts of profanity, like the F-word was thrown around all the time or you would get your ass kicked if you were gay. So there was definitely a fear of sort of embracing how I felt. I was definitely more aware of it in high school. I was aware of my feelings and how I started looking at men, but I couldn't talk to anybody about it."

    Larry Saperstein

Bisexual Celebrities Who Came Out in 2021

The actor (who is probably best known for playing Big Red on Disney+'s hit, queer-inclusive musical series High School Musical: The Musical: The Series) casually came out as bisexual after addressing his sexuality in a TikTok video.

"Is it really that unexpected tho?" Saperstein captioned the post, which is basically just a selfie video where the words "Plays a character with a girlfriend on TV, is bi irl" show up on screen as the Backyardigans' viral hit "International Super Spy" plays in the background.

    David Archuleta

Bisexual Celebrities Who Came Out in 2021

The singer-songwriter, known most for his 2008's track "Crush" and who first rose to prominence when he competed and placed second during the seventh season of reality singing competition American Idol, came out as a member of the LGBTQ+ community in a heartfelt and emotional post on Instagram.

"I like to keep to myself but also thought this was important to share because I know so many other people from religious upbringings feel the same way," he wrote, saying that he probably most closely identifies on the bisexual spectrum. "I've been open to myself and my close family for some years now that I am not sure about my own sexuality."

    Linsey Godfrey

Bisexual Celebrities Who Came Out in 2021

The soap opera actress and Days of Our Lives star shared that she is proud to be bisexual in a short and sweet Instagram post.

"LGBTQ Proud," she wrote, hashtagging #BiPride.

"In fairness I've been saying I'm somewhere over the rainbow for years," she later tweeted about her coming out. "No one has ever picked up on it haha! So I decided to be more direct haha!"

    Marvin Cortes

Bisexual Celebrities Who Came Out in 2021

America's Next Top Model alum Marvin Cortes opened up about his bisexuality in August in a post on social media.

"Hey guys I want to let you guys know that I'm coming out as openly bisexual," he said on Instagram. "I've been in love with both men and women and I've been proud to be a part of the gay community in my personal life and just want to share it now publicly, online."

    Jack Dunne

Bisexual Celebrities Who Came Out in 2021

The 22-year-old professional rugby player, who is an Irish rugby union player currently playing as a member of the Leinster team, came out as bisexual and talked openly about his sexuality on the BBC's LGBT Sports Podcast.

"When you're bisexual it's almost a blessing and a curse because you can hide it way easier - you can still go out with the lads on Saturday night and do all that stuff, but then at the same time it's easier to hide it and it's easier to not be true to yourself," Dunne said, revealing that he first started realizing he was bi as early as age 15. "So eventually, I think it was in sixth year, I told one or two people and they took it really well, so I was like, you know what, I'll just tell everyone and if someone has a problem with it, that's on them."

    Toni Storm

Bisexual Celebrities Who Came Out in 2021

The professional WWE NXT came out as bisexual after she took over WWE NXT's Instagram stories in honor of Pride Month!

"I'm bi and it feels good to say it," Storm said. "It's something I've been really comfortable with for a long time. I just never expressed it."

    She continued:

"I just never really found the right time and it's Pride Month and I'm on your Instagram so now's a good time I guess."

    Casey Frey

Bisexual Celebrities Who Came Out in 2021

The internet/meme sensation revealed that he has a boyfriend in a June interview with Theo Von on his This Past Weekend podcast.

"I am in a relationship with a dude right now," he said. "I met him online."

When asked to describe his type, he then said, "I'm into the teddy boys, you know. I like girls too though," which many fans took as his casual way of coming out as bi.

    DreamDoll

Bisexual Celebrities Who Came Out in 2021

The rapper and Love & Hip Hop star came out as bisexual in a June post on her Instagram account.

"Happy Pride Month," she captioned her Pride-themed photo announcement to her over 4.2 million followers. "I'm proud to announce that I'm bisexual."

    Olivia Ponton

Bisexual Celebrities Who Came Out in 2021

In an interview with Teen Vogue, the 19-year-old model and social media superstar (who currently has over 6 million TikTok followers and 3 million Instagram followers) confirmed that she is bisexual after causing a stir earlier this year with a cheeky TikTok video.

"I want to announce that I'm bisexual, and I'm now proud to be a part of the LGBTQ+ community," Ponton told Teen Vogue.

She also opened up about how she wasn't exposed to many queer people growing up in Naples, Florida, and it wasn't until she moved to Los Angeles that she realized being bisexuality was even a possibility for her. Ponton then revealed that she now has a girlfriend named Kaila and that the two met on TikTok before they officially started seeing each other back in January of this year.

"I met my girlfriend on TikTok and became thoroughly obsessed with her," she said. "She actually curved me for a week before first answering!"
