In addition to being the most talked about pop star on the planet, she is also a fashion muse and avid shopper of unusual wares, a vocal spokeswoman for GLBT rights, a Twitter die-hard, a runway model, a soon-to-be perfumer and an all around good time gal. Now, according to her Twitter, La Gaga will now add columnist to her wide-reaching resumé.

It's a bit of a cliché -- but it's also true -- that the fashion industry is notorious for copying itself. Season after season, designers look to the past to help inspire their future endeavors. So why should fashion news coverage be expected to do otherwise? Frankly, it shouldn't and it doesn't.

As you know, we've been thinking a lot about our favorite ladies lately. And of course, Stefani Joanna Angelina Germanotta is quickly becoming one of the gals who consistently tops that list. No, that's not the latest cast member to join Jersey Shore, it's the birth name of dear old Lady Gaga. We use the term "old" loosely since the ripe singer turns 25 today.
