Truman Says

The scene outside Barneys.

Vogue editor Hamish Bowles stopped by in his finest McQueen ensemble.

Guinness as she emerges from her dressing chamber to show the crowd what she will be wearing to the Gala.

A festive voyeur gets into the McQueen spirit.

This picture has been making the rounds on Tumblr and appears to be a candid moment of the royal princes getting either fitted for their wedding attire, or preparing for the wedding. But what interests us most is what appears to be a scantily clad Prince Harry off to the right -- guess boxer-briefs are his underwear of choice. Remember ladies (and gents), he's still on the market.

Michelle Obama
makes three outfit changes in one day, and one dress just so happens to be by uber-trendy label Balenciega (above). Girlfriend has good taste.

Blind Item from The New York Post: Which hot fashion designer -- perhaps upset that he didn't get the call to design that dress -- was spotted stumbling out of the Boom Boom Room, yelling, "Kate Middleton is a vanilla whore!" on the eve of the royal wedding while his equally inebriated posse cackled?

From Left:

1. Eva Mendes' use of bold color, voluminous shape and dynamic pleating were a stand out.

2. A lot of people disagreed with us, but we adore the risque, risky web-like lace gown that Christina Ricci worn, by Zac Posen

3. Naomi Campbell: Bringing the McQueen realness like no other

4. Janelle Monae's Chanel was the perfect play on masculine/feminine. The high collar and top hat are totally chic.

Below, from left:
1. Gossip Girl's Leighton Meester opted for a woven Louis Vuitton number, but somehow, even though she wore slimming black, looked wide in all the wrong places.

2. Karl Lagerfeld's Tom Ford ensemble was a bit too flamboyant for our taste. We like The Kaiser when he's nice and austere and sticks to his usual uniform. And Blake Lively, in Chanel, looks like her toga is falling off.

While there were tons of celebs -- from the worlds of movies, television and fashion -- all converged last night for the Met Gala, there were sure to be hits and misses. But it's hard to classify as just good, bad and ugly. We've decided to lump them into some more specialized categories. First up? The starlets who definitely dressed well, but weren't taking any risks, sadly.

It's no secret that Anna Wintour loves herself some Chanel. It's practically her daily uniform, the classic tweed skirt-suit. And at Anna's yearly Met Gala, she almost always wears a special confection courtesy of Karl himself. This season, though, it was kind of assumed that since the exhibition honors the work of Alexander McQueen that Wintour would pull out one of her more conservative McQueen frocks from the closet and toss it on in honor of the man who served as inspiration for the show.

Proof, courtesy of our friend and photographer Matthu Placek, that we need models on the cover of our magazines.

Model Miranda Kerr loves tweeting pictures of herself breast-feeding. Get a room, girl!

On the heels (haha) of the pink-toenailed signs of Armageddon, J. Crew has once again had the audacity to treat its customers and employees like mature, judicious grown-ups who are also caring human beings. How dare they! A new catalog for the company features two men, one reaching out and grabbing the others' bicep, with the caption: "Our designer Somsack and his boyfriend, Micah" (see above). As usual, J.
