Ever since John Galliano was fired from his job at the French label Dior in March of this year, the fashion industry has been rapt to see who would replace the eccentric designer. Adding to the fervor is the fact that top executives have been taking their time to name a successor and quiet on whom they are considering.

This past weekend, rapper Nicki Minaj wore another kooky outift to her appearance at the iHeartRadio concert. In addition to a bedazzled, lacy, mess on her torso, the performer wore a pink fried chicken leg necklace. Cute and quirky, right? Some people, though, are suggesting it was in poor taste and had undertones of racial insensitivity, though we didn't pick up on that until someone else brought it to our attention. What do you think? Silly or scandalous?

Thanks to Carl over at The Fashionisto, we not only got a ton of hot shots of boys dressing and undressing backstage at the New York fashion shows, we now have some footate of the dreamy dudes on their way to an fro castings. Check out the boys giving face, modeling hard and goofing off during their freetime -- oh, and did we mention they take off their shirts? Yeah, we thought we should mention that.

When you think of Lacoste, you typically think of the sporting life of tennis, polos and cute crocodiles -- not technology, social media and art installations. Despite this, the company celebrated the release of three new fragrances -- Lacoste L.12.12. Blanc, Bleu, and Vert Editions -- with a performance-based flash mob at New York's Grand Central Station, and a pop-up sculpture (called Lacoste Machine L.12.12) made in cahoots with the collective TRONIC, known for their mash-ups of architecture and expermental industrial design.

Our trusty copy editor Mike Berlin has a special fascination and love for the secret-swindling former editrix of News International Rebekah Brooks -- and has more than once regaled us with the tale of how the frizzy-haired maven once made one of her reporters dress up as Harry Potter (on September 11th, no less), just one of the many indignities of working for a boss who relishes in cruel and unusual punishments for their own amusement.

Dolce & Gabbana announced today that they will be discontinuing their secondary line D&G. The designers, Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana have issued a statement noting that by ending the ancillary label, which appealed to a younger audience in both aesthetic and pricepoint, they would be able to focus more on growing their mainline collection.

French luxury label Louis Vuitton went all Italian for the big reveal of their exhibit, which opened today in Milan. Fashion editors and buyers have swarmed the city for the annual fashion shows, but those who are might want a moment to look to the past instead of focusing on next spring, will have plenty to feast their eyes on. The exhibition features designs from the iconic leathergoods house since the inception of American designer Marc Jacobs in 1998.

Our inbox is no longer filled to the brim with mere still images from different brands -- now we've progressed to the world of the moving picture. As fall approaches, many companies are thinking up new ways to push their products, and you start getting a sense of what they're especially proud of, and what they forecast as a big ticket item.
