Truman Says

Just as quickly as the circus that is New York Fashion Week magically manifests, it just quickly disappears into the ether, leaving the Big Apple for international shores. While women's editors are off in London, and then Milan and Paris, before circling back home, the boys are recovering from the week's excitement. Here, we've asked our fashion director Grant Woolhead, fashion and market editor Brent Austin Coover, and features editor William Van Meter to pick their favorite moments from the spring 2012 showings.

While Rafael Nadal may have lost the US Open to Novak Djokovic a few weeks back, we've chosen to forgive him since he still has his underwear campaign for Armani Jeans, and for that we're grateful. Check out this steamy behind-the-scenes videos below...things start getting really sexy at the :30 mark, for those with no patience.

It goes without saying that Bally makes a mean pair of shoes. When we think of the Swiss label, images of beautifully-crafted leather dress shoes dance like sugarplums in our head, but there's so much more than that. Today, we took a peek at this video celebrating the company's 160th anniversary and we got schooled about the brand in a major way. For example, did you know that Bally created the pump, the space boot that first landed on the moon, and the hiking boot that first dominated Mt. Everest?  We sure didn't, but all three of those things are totally major.

It's hard to believe that we were able to wave down Brad Goreski this fashion week, seeing as he was a ubiquitous front row fixture this season. During one of his rare breaks, we were able to snag a moment with the stylist about trends he's noticing, trends he's loving, his Twitter habits, what he did on Fashion's Night Out and what we can expect from his upcoming TV show. Check it out below:

Jeremy Scott
’s shows are always a welcome dose of batshit during a Fashion Week that can be overly snooty, self-serious, or just plain boring. The crowd awaiting Mr. Scott’s Wednesday afternoon show consisted of a dude on roller-skates with Vulcan eyebrows, various drag queens and club weirdos mingling with the fashion cognoscenti –- you know, the usual Jeremy Scott gang.

Maybe it’s because we’re in a never-ending time of war that J. Sabatino has had the only military-themed collection. The uniformed utilitarian aesthetic with built-in masculinity is a common go-to for designers. But even if military were the huge trend (a la mountain climbing inexplicably was last season), J. Sabatino would certainly stand out.

The atmosphere for 2(x)ist’s Wednesday night show at the Maritime Hotel’s Hiro Ballroom was similar to the venue’s usual disco vibe. As Lady Gaga and Robyn blared, the crowd munching sushi and eggrolls didn’t seem exactly A-list -- but wait! There’s half the cast of The A-list, seated at a table right by the runway!

We love shoes and we love cute guys, but a cute guy who designs sneakers? Swoon. We caught up with modern sneakerhead Alejandro Ingelmo to discuss his spring 2012 shoe collection. And boys, if you ever score a date with Mr. Ingelmo, you may just be honored with a shoe in your name.

We caught up with gender-bending model of the moment Andrej Pejic. In the video below, our fashion editor Brent Austin Coover grills Pejic on where he goes out, where he lives, and how he likes his time in New York.
