Wow -- seems as though things have finally began to calm down after the whirlwind of fabulous parties and events since Pride. Let's re-cap.
The second week of July was amazing as I got to DJ the IGLA (International Gay and Lesbian Aquatics) meet in Hawaii. They were a really fun group and had social events all week. I had a great time, and got to meet a ton of amazing queer athletes from all over the world. I was especially thrilled as my dear friend Heklina was there in Hawaii putting on her famous Trannyshack show in Waikiki. It was my first time in the Islands, and I look forward to returning.
The club scene in San Francisco has been off the chain. It seems that everywhere you go, bars and clubs are filled up with young gays, queers, and transpeople out celebrating the city and its culture. My two parties -- Booty Call Wednesdays (with Juanita More) and Stallion Saturdays -- are packed with hot gays, club kids, and drag artists.
Booty Call is nearing its 4 year anniversary, having grown from a little mid-week party to a full-on Wednesday night tradition. Booty Call is so special because the whole experience feels like one big show. From the scantily-clad tranny go-go dancers to Juanita's timeless fashions and my big room beats, the energy of that party is beyond magical. Some come to participate, while others prefer a more voyeuristic approach to the nights' happenings.
Stallion Saturdays is a completely different beast, and my newest weekly party. The sound is 'big room house,' driven with a touch of 'twerk' and 're-work.' The venue is dark and masculine, with live go-go shows every hour 'til 4am. We're excited to have my friend DJ Josh Peace up from LA to play with local celebrity DJ Pee Play (who has a featured top ten list on my Out Nighthawks page.)
This past weekend was a local holiday in the SOMA district, as it was the Dore Alley Street Fair (aka the Up Your Alley fair). I was honored to be asked to emcee the infamous Naked Twister' stage produced by Steamworks. It was a gorgeous day and I was surrounded by gorgeous muscle studs in jock straps for 6 hours. What more could I have asked for?
Hosting the twister stage this past Sunday has really gotten me in the mood for Folsom Street Fair. That weekend, September 24th, I'll be producing my 4th annual "Leather and Lace Ball." The night promises to be legendary as my girl and winner of RuPaul's Drag Race, Raja, and two of the hottest young adult stars in the gay world, Chris Porter and Kennedy Carter, are all together under one roof.
With that, it is time to meet with my team. We are going over the calendars and booking out the next couple months. Look for our favorite resident DJs and dancers as well as celebrity appearances by Lady Bunny, Nita Aviance and more... !

SF Gay Pride Weekend 2011 Recap
I'm just beginning to feel like a person again after this past Gay Pride weekend' it was epic, legendary, fierce, amazing and any other overused gay adjective. Trust!
Friday night was the 4th annual mustache party called Mr. I'm always thrilled to have that many mustaches (real or fake) pressed up against each other on the dance floor. The cast members of the Naked Sword DVD series 'Golden Gate,' Sage Daniels and Jessie Santana were our special guest go-go dancers. I was thrilled to have my good friend and L.A. based party promoter/ performer Mario Diaz in the house to host the party. I've been a fan of Mario's since the early days of his electro band, Dirty Sanchez, and am looking forward to producing more events with him. Watch for it.
The Mr. party went way late as always, but I was in bed by 3am to get some beauty rest for my next day of events. Saturday was a long one to say the least' The morning consisted of making sure all the performers for my events traveled in safely and made it to their hotels. My assistant AJ and the rest of the crew were working non-stop to ensure both events went off seamlessly.
Saturday Gay Pride in San Francisco marks the annual Pink Party. The Pink Party is like nothing you've ever seen: the streets of the Castro are closed down and filled with people dancing and partying everywhere. That night my party in Castro, Stallion, played host to the Tubway Tour DJs from NYC -- Colby B, Gant Johnson, and Nita Aviance. The star performers and hosts for the evening were Ensubtitles a New York club-based performance group consisting of Erickatour Avianc, One-Half Nelson, and Clifton. They really turned it out and will be making regular appearances at Stallion Saturdays from here on.
On the exact same night, across town, my long-time 'gal pal' Heklina and I hosted Big Top vs Trannyshack, a SF Gay Pride tradition. This year was extra special as the show starred three of the Heathers of Rupaul's Drag Race season 3' Delta Work, Carmen Carrera, and the season's winner, Raja. Also gracing the stage were Hoku Mama Swamp, Sister Roma, and gay adult film star Chris Porter! Check out the photos here or at www.joshuajpresents.com.
What's up for this week? All eyes are on BOOM! A massive queer dance party being put on by Juanita More!, the Miss Honey Voguing kids, and Some Thing, a local drag party. This party is on Sunday July 3rd and looks to be epic!

JOSHUA J & JUANITA MORE'S GUIDE TO GAY PRIDE!
Joshua J: Hey Ma -- What is the T on this year's GAY PRIDE? I hear that it is the biggest Pride line up of talent and celebrities San Francisco has ever seen...
Juanita More: I don't think there has been a year that I've been more excited.
JJ: I know I am so excited to kick off Pride week at Booty Call Wednesdays with Victor Rodriguez. That party has gotten out of control, and I like it!
JM: I love Victor. He hasn't played for us in over 2 years. Crazy. Booty Call has been so much fun. We've created a monster!
Thursday I will be DJing at NightLife: California Academy of Sciences with Stanley Frank & Chelsea Starr. Plus Heklina is doing a mini Trannyshack show! The Academy is going all out to promote this as their biggest queer event to date. I can't wait! I'm excited for Mr. on Friday - tell me about it.
JJ: Friday the 24th is the Mr. the 4th annual Mustache Party. It is so cute to see all the boys with fake mustaches and the daddies with the real ones. I grew a real mustache just for this party! Wear a mustache, real or costume, and get a discount at the door. Miss Hone Dijon (NYC) is headlining. The boys from Fag Friday and Beatbox events and I throw this party and are thrilled to have a Naked Sword side room hosted by all of the stars of the Golden Gate DVD series. My favorite is Chris Porter... oof, what a babe. Tickets available now at www.joshuajpresents.com.
Then Saturday the 25th is a double header for me, as I have two events on the same night. Stallion Saturdays is my big room, house music party with Horse Hung Go Go boys, and Tubway Tour- DJs Colby B, Gant Johnson, and Nita Aviance (NYC) 'til 4am. This party is my new favorite thing about SF nightlife -- come find out why.
At the exact same time across town I am throwing Big Top vs Trannyshack with my "gal-pal" Heklina. The show is starring three of the Heathers from Rupaul's Drag Race season 3M -- Carmen Carrera, Delta Work, and the season's winner Raja Gemini. Both parties promise to be off the hook. More details, times, and ticketing info at www.joshuajpresents.com.
JJ: I am so proud to be a sponsor of your legendary Pride Pool Party this year. Tell me about it?
JM: I don't think there has been a year that I've been more excited. We are back at the party's original location and that has caused quite a buzz. The venue has been completely remodeled and looks absolutely amazing. I am thrilled to have friends from all over the world participate in what has become one of the most beloved parties of the year. From the U.K. we have Horse Meat Disco DJ's Jim Stanton & Severino, from Chicago R&B and dance singer Dajae, from NYC House of Stank DJ's (W. Jeremy & Christy Love), Tubway DJ's (Gant Johnson, Nita Aviance & Colby B), performance artists enSubtitles (One-Half Nelson, Erickatoure Aviance & Clifton Brown Jr.) and from our amazing hometown of S.F., Gemini Disco DJ Derrick Love, Friday night's hottest party and drag show - SOME THING with Glamamore, Vivvyanne ForeverMORE & Little Miss Hot Mess! Tickets can be purchased on my website and will be available at the door all day.

Memorial Day Weekend is always a non-stop party in San Francisco, and this year was no exception. Saturday night was off the chain because I had two parties: Big Top and Stallion, going on at the same time. Both events were with filled with club kids, drag queens, and muscle boys dancing late into the night.
Big Top played host to Miss Honey, a traveling vogue ball lead by up-and-coming-children Terry T, Manicure Versace, and Errol Valentino. Like any proper ball, there were faces, walk-offs, shade, trophy snatching, and a special performance by AB Soto. The ball scene is so important to our community and I wish that I saw more of it in San Francisco, though the kids that turn Big Top out never disappoint with their looks, fashions, and talent. Keep an eye on these children of the night, and you will forever be entertained.
Stallion Saturdays is my newest weekly event and has been just insane. Stallion is the only dance club with after-hours near the Castro and the boys have been going nutty for it. I was thrilled to have my friend, DJ Josh Peace of Mr. Black LA, willing to headline for the night. He is such a sweetheart -- and a demon on the decks. He had the SF boys flippin' their wigs to say the least. He will definitely be back at Stallion in August.
This week marks the start of Gay Pride month in San Francisco. My business partner Juanita More and I are both celebrating at our weekly party Booty Call Wednesdays. Our guest DJ is local club-land favorite Stanley Frank, and it is his birthday party! International drag queen Ambrosia Salad will also be performing, and she always leaves us gagging for more, I can't wait. I am sure it will be a night that nobody will remember.
I am really looking to this summer party season. People, especially our people, are ready to party again and I am ready to twerk. Let the gay games begin. Stay connected with me at www.joshuajpresents.com.
