Tony Ferro: Miami

Tony-rotator

Tony Ferro hosts and produces some of the sexiest parties in town.

Tony Ferro was born, raised, and has lived in Miami his whole life. Known as the 'nice guy on South Beach' or the 'Mayor of SoBe's Nightlife,' he has been part of South Beach's gay scene since the early '90s. Back then, on any given Sunday, everyone would go to the beach, head to Amnesia for the weekly tea dance, then walk over to Warsaw for the hottest dance party in town. VIP status wasn't based on how many bottles you bought, but rather, on your attitude and confidence.

Tony noticed a decline in the gay scene a few years back. While hanging out with friends, he said, "Hey, we know everyone in Miami, we should have a party at my place." The attendance was so overwhelming that he decided to find a venue and host a party with his boys' Penny Back Wednesdays at INK Nightclub was born.

The name Penny Back was used as a marketing strategy, the idea was to give a penny back at the door for a free drink. Suddenly people began referring to the parties as the Penny Back Boyz, and the name stuck. It was a scene reminiscent of old school South Beach. The party included a mix of scenesters, trendsetters, break dancers, models, fashionistas, metrosexuals, and drag divas! The weekly party was a huge success, and soon after, other parties at different venues followed, including The Chat Noir Club at Dream Nightclub, which was featured on The Travel Channel as the 'most extreme party' in Miami; Room 727 at Score; Click at Aero Bar; White Out at Rock Bar; La La Land at Head Candy; Sunday Skool at Heathrow Lounge; La Escuelita at La Folie; International Wednesdays at Mansion; Fashion Fridays at Prive; Dining with the Divas; Art of Life at Mova Lounge; B*tch at Score Nightclub; and Jump at Lux.

He has also worked with the White Party, Winter Party Festival, Pride Miami Beach, Matinee Miami, Peter Rauhoufer's Werk, Tracy Young's Genesis, Mark Baker's Wonder World Orlando, and hosts annual fundraisers benefiting South Beach AIDS Project and Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure.

Currently, Tony Ferro hosts and produces some of the sexiest parties in town, including Filthy Gorgeous Fridays at SCORE Nightclub; College Night Wednesdays at Mova Lounge; Cabana Boy Pool Party Sundays at Lords South Beach Hotel; and Out & Ugly Sundays at Mova. As to be expected, there are lots on new projects on the way, promising great vibes, hot people, funky music, and visual entertainment.
