EXCLUSIVE: Roleplaying Show 8Players Extends Dates & Themes

Look forward to performances through June and a new “L.A. Wedding” theme

We've covered 8Players before, but couldn't resist letting everyone know about the immersive show's spring and summer 2016 schedules. If you haven't already checked out this campy, roleplaying theater experience, you're overdue.

A quick refresher: 8Players puts--you guessed it!--eight audience members into various, customized roles according to the night's theme (which can be anything from '90s teen horror thriller to a girls boarding school). After cell phones are confiscated (for maximum immersion, obviously), participants unfold a mystery as they roam the space, take a few shots, and of course, chat with their strange new company.

We talked with openly gay 8Players creator Ross Tipograph on the latest theme, "L.A. Wedding."

"It mashes Muriel's Wedding, Melancholia, and Very Bad Things... with doses of The Bling Ring and, of course, The Canyons. Never forget (or forgive) The Canyons. I like when New Yorkers get the chance to play L.A.'s most extreme natives. Additionally, I'm realizing the themes I write get increasingly niche--for better or worse."

So, who's ready to channel some Lindsay Lohan realness? Anyone?
