New Bates Motel Trailer Teases Rihanna as Marion Crane

It was only a matter of time until Marion Crane made her fated visit to the Bates Motel in the A&E series. The show, over its last four seasons, has effectively served as a prequel to the events of Alfred Hitchcock's Psycho, based on the novel by Robert Bloch.

Now, in the trailer for the fifth and final season, we see Norman start to become unhinged, arguing with his dead mother, and finally meeting Crane, played by Rihanna. According to Entertainment Weekly, Rihanna's version of Crane will be a bit more fleshed out, focusing on her internal struggles.

"We're taking threads of that story and definitely using them so it's recognizable, it's just where we go with it is very different," said Kerry Ehrin, the show's executive producer. "It's tough to be in a situation where you're in love with a guy, and for whatever reason, he keeps stalling. You still have all this hot sex with him, and he's saying he loves you, but he's stalling. The internal story of that, for a woman, is a really interesting one."
