Power 50: Scott Rothkopf

Texas-raised Rothkopf joined the Whitney Museum in 2009, and was named chief curator of the institution last year, overseeing in part a massive relocation to the Meatpacking District. The Harvard grad received praise in The New York Times and Interview for his recent Jeff Koons retrospective, which drew more than 320,000 visitors. In 2016, he continues to showcase the most compelling contemporary American art at the Whitney's brand-new 220,000-square-foot space, with Frank Stella and Steve McQueen as his main headliners this year.
