Law will star opposite Johnny Depp as Gellert Grindelwald.

Just when you thought the Fantastic Beasts series had amassed all the megastar power it could get, we've been spellbound with this new casting update: Jude Law will play a young, angsty Dumbledore in the series' second film.

Law will star opposite Johnny Depp as Gellert Grindelwald, Dumbledore's teen friend who turns into one of the great evil wizards of magical history. And by the sound of it, the pair will be a little more than just besties.

"Dumbledore fell in love with Grindelwald, and that that added to his horror when Grindelwald showed himself to be what he was," J.K. Rowling told TIME. So perhaps we can expect to see some Law-Depp lip-locking in this next movie, if we're lucky.

Eddie Redmayne and the other main members of the Fantastic Beasts cast--Katherine Waterston, Alison Sudol and Dan Fogler--are all also slated to return for this next film, though instead of being set in New York City, the upcoming movie is reportedly taking place in Paris and Watford, England, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
