That Boy-Band Sci-Fi Zombie Western Is Happening: Here's The Poster!

dead 7

Backstreet Boys Nick Carter and A.J. McLean and *NSYNC'er Joey Fatone star in Syfy's Dead 7. You're welcome.

With so much media to consume, I completely forgot that this was happening but here we are: Dead 7, a sci-fi zombie western starring how you figured out you were gay.

backstreet everybody

Oh hey, Kevin.

Dead 7stars a who's who of turn of the millennium boy banders: Nick Carter, A.J. McLean, and Howie Dorough of the Backstreet Boys; Joey Fatone and Chris Kirkpatrick from *NSYNC; and Jeff Timmons from 98 Degrees. And for whatever reason, the guy from Everclear.

Of course, it will be a cold day in hell before Justin Timberlake takes part in another boy band reunion, but who knows? He does love to make a comedic cameo.

Bring it on down to Dead 7, JT.

Nick Carter wrote the script for the Syfy channel movie with Sxv'leithan Essex, which premieres, naturally, on April 1. April Fool's Day--it's nice when everyone's in on the joke.

Asylum, the studio that brought us Syfy's schadenfreude masterwork Sharknado, describes the film thusly (via EW):

Dead 7 is the story of a ragtag band of gunslingers who must rid a small town of a zombie plague in a post-apocalyptic West...Carter will play Jack, the reluctant hero who unites the outlaws to face the zombie menace.

Dead 7 is already drawing comparisons to Sharknado, but if the poster is any indication, this is going to be so much better-worse than Sharknado.

"Larger than life!" Fuck Sharknado. A.J. looks like a mime turned mercenary; Nick got some dirt on his lip that I refuse to call a mustache; and noted thespian and national treasure Joey Goddamn Fatone, of My Big Fat Greek Wedding and On the Line fame, is serving you scruffy daddy circa the California Gold Rush. In other words, this is perfect.

Ian Ziering ain't got nothin' on 50% of the two biggest boy bands of the last 20 years, if not ever.

Dead 7 premieres on Syfy on April 1.
