In preparation for the premiere of Stonewall, Roadside Attractions has released a featurette which gives an inside look at the highly anticipated film. The video features an interview with Jonny Beauchamp who plays Ray/Ramona.

"It's really about how the youth started this revolution, and not that many people know about it. To me, it's a really interesting moment of American history," Beauchamp says about Stonewall. "It wasn't one specific person. It was a collective. It was a group."

Beauchamp also gives a sneak peek at some of the characters and their real-life inspirations such as Ray Castro and Sylvia Rivera. He discusses Rivera as his inspiration and explains his passion for his character.

"She's one of the first really prominent trans activists," he says of Rivera. "I've always really wanted to tell her story because I've always found her to be infinitely special. She shined in a place where it was just very dark."
