Pop Duo The Young Professionals Debut Cover of Abba's 'S.O.S.'

Ivri Lider Young Professionals

The Israeli band's album of remixes and covers is due out July 31

Israeli electro pop duo The Young Professionals first made a splash in the international dance pop community with their stellar 2012 debut album 9am to 5pm, 5pm to Whenever. The band formed when out frontman Ivri Lider, already a huge solo star in Israel -- and the first pop star to come out in the nation in 2002 -- joined forces with producer Jonathan Goldstein.

Together they're as known for their innovative originals -- like their current dance club hit "All of It But Me" featuring Austrian singer Anna F. -- as they are their remixes of songs by other pop stars including Lady Gaga and Tony Bennett, Tegan and Sarah, Moby and Tove Lo.

The upcoming Remixes and Covers, due July 31, collects some of those remixes and also features TYP's sharp takes on several songs by artists beloved to the LGBT community such as Abba's "S.O.S."

The video for the duo's rendition, which sounds a lot sexier and slinkier than the bouncy original, features vintage footage of the Swedish quartet and premiered the track on The Advocate.

The duo explains they they were originally asked to cover the song for an Abba tribute album."Having the opportunity to choose the song from all these amazing songs and being able to create a new production for it and make it our own was great experience," they told The Advocate via email, adding, "Of course if we discuss "LGBT" music, ABBA is the corner stone of the genre."
