Kim K Comforts Mama Kris in E! Bruce Jenner Special Preview Clip

With the exception of noted RuPaul's Drag Race guest judge Khloe Kardashian, E!'s Keeping Up with the Kardashians has always represented to me the worst of our celebrity-driven culture. Much like Martha Stewart before me, I wondered, "Why? Why? Why?" at their enduring ubiquity. But with Bruce Jenner bravely coming out as transgender, the show has an incredible opportunity to educate as well as (arguably) entertain.

E! will air Keeping Up with the Kardashians: About Bruce later this month, a special dealing with the family's reactions to Bruce Jenner's transition. According to a press release:

The two-part special will reveal intimate conversations that Bruce had wth his famous family, in which they discussed his transition. The specials will also explore each family membre's struggle to process his or her own feelings as they all work through hearing from Bruce directly about finally living life as the person he has always known himself to be.

In the following clip, we see Kim Kardashian-West comforting Kris Jenner over Bruce's transition. If Kim steps up in a big way as a vocal and visible ally, I might have to reconsider Khloe's reign over my thoughts and emotions.

Part one of Keeping Up with the Kardashians: About Bruce airs Sunday May 17 at 9:00 pm on E!, with part two airing the following night. E! will also air a currently-untitled eight episode series documenting Bruce's new life as a woman, debuting July 26 at 9 pm.
