Adidas Apologizes After Congratulating Runners for 'Surviving' Boston Marathon

Just two weeks after Pepsi made a major marketing error with its now-infamous Kendall Jenner ad, Adidas has followed with a blunder of its own. The athletics brand sent out an email this week to runners after completion of the Boston Marathon with the subject line, "Congratulations, you survived the Boston Marathon!"
Normally, this wouldn't be a big deal, except that in 2013 three people died and hundreds more were greviously injured by a bombing at the international sporting event. Now, Adidas has issued an official apology:

Very interesting how marketing teams don't seem to be checking in with anyone else these days before hitting "send."
