Grace Jones, Lauryn Hill, Lenny Kravitz, Kelis & Kele To Headline Afropunk Fest

Afropunk 2015 lineup

The Brooklyn music festival unveils its most ambitious lineup yet.

Afropunk has announced the lineup up for its flagship festival in Brooklyn, due to take place August 22 and 23 at Commodore Barry Park, and it's a doozy!

This will be a chance to see rare performers such as Grace Jones, Ms. Lauryn Hill, Lenny Kravitz, and Kelis mingle with the new R'n'B and hip-hop generation: Rapper Danny Brown, openly gay singer Kele Okereke, and the queer DJ collective Papi Juice are all confirmed.

Special guest Grace Jones will also raise funds for their Afropunk Global Initiative, an alliance dedicated to improve the representation of people of color and encourage diversity in media, at the Afropunk Fancy Dress Ball on August 21.

To guarantee affordable passes, the festival started an "earned ticket" program, called Afropunk Army, which gives fans the chance to volunteer for a ticket. The program creates awareness for organizations in need, with projects such as landscaping, meal packing and supplying food, and advocacy via social promotion. Registration for earned tickets will be available at EventBrite from June 3.

Now the question on everyone's lips: Which of these queens will actually turn up on time?
