Woman Shares Her Journal to Win Over Crush

Taylor Blake, 23, is an avid social media user, but she is also rather old-fashioned; she journals incessantly. When she met 19-year-old Josie Paine on a dating app last spring, she was so taken with her new crush that she documented the experience in her notebook.

Blake told Buzzfeed, "Writing has always been a passion of mine, so I decided I would let my writing tell me whether or not she was the person I should be with."

And so began their courtship, with Blake reflecting in her journal on Paine's beauty, referring to her as "walking poetry" or "my favorite gallery."

Then, last week, Blake asked Paine out to dinner, and presented her with a journal full of love letters. Her hope was to make it official. "There are 40 more pages in this journal. The first 19 pages were our memories from my perspective. I'd like the remaining to be future memories from our perspective. Be mine?"

As luck would have it, Paine answered with a resounding yes, and the social media airwaves have been abuzz ever since. Blake and Paine's story, so well documented on both Instagram and Twitter, have received thousands upon thousands of supportive comments and shares.

In response to the outpour of support, Paine shared, "I think every girl deserves to be appreciated, and reminded what makes her special. My hope is that, by seeing my post, others will be inspired to go the extra mile for the people who bring them the most joy."
