Where Should You Propose?

Tiffany Love

Here are five memorable places to ask the big question

While you're preparing to pop the big question to your significant other, you have to consider where you want to be. From an impromptu getaway to the familiar neighborhood restaurant, the options are numerous, but you must find the one most meaningful to the both of you.

1. First Date Spot

As cheesy as it is, returning to where you first met will always be romantic. Take your partner to the same places you went to way back when and recreate all the same memories during a whole new stage of your relationship. Whether you went to dinner and a movie, or grabbed a drink at that overpriced cocktail bar, ask him or her to marry you right where it all began.

2. Home

Nothing says love like a homecooked dinner (or take-out if you're culinarily-impaired). Grab a bottle of wine, light some candles, and enjoy a delicious meal wherever you please--at the table or on the living room rug. There's no better place to embark on a new life together than at home.

3. Vacation

What's more exciting than jetsetting someplace new? If you choose the beach or the mountainside, proposing in a foreign and beautiful destination only speaks to you and your loved one's thirst for adventure, fun, and togetherness.

4. Somewhere Public

If your signifcant other has always wanted to go somewhere, now's the time to take them! Whether a museum, sporting event, or concert venue, get engaged and celebrate your love infront of a crowd of people who are sure to give you a standing ovation.

5. Anyplace with Friends and Family

While public places appeal to some, others want to propose in quieter spots surrounded by people they love. Gather your closest friends and family and suprise your partner with everyone who is important in his or her life. Ask the question and then party with those who mean the most.
