WATCH: Rescue Cats Audition for 'Breakfast at Tiffany's'

The latest 'Homotional Rescue' video follows a few special kitties as they strive for stardom

What does it mean to make it in New York? For a group of cats and their owners, it meant winning a coveted role as Holly Golightly's feline companion in the Broadway production of Truman Capote's Breakfast at Tiffanny's.

These cats waited patiently outside in the cold, then allowed themselves to be prodded and auditioned in the warmer confines of the Cort Theater. Although none featured in this video were ultimately chosen to be in the production, the majority of kitty's present that day were shelter cats, and at least one of the cats featured in the production, Vito Vincent, is a rescue cat (and was found at a shelter before being placed in Bide-a-wee's adoption center).

Since Homotional Rescue's ultimate purpose is to advocate for shelter's over puppy/kitty mills (see the ASPCA for more info) I think the best way to "make it in New York" is to be the kind of everyday superstar who knows their best friend is out there somewhere, purring in a cage and waiting to be brought home.
