Fashion Tips for Summer

What to wear to the office, to the beach, and to the cocktail party this summer.

The Office
Depending on how much you can get away with, linen suits or unlined cotton suits can look absolutely brilliant if you happen to work in the corporate world. If not, opt for light (and lightly colored) T-shirts, jeans, or khakis, provided your office's dress code allows them.

Wedding Wear
In the case of a friend's wedding, linen or cotton suits are the way to go again. If the wedding has a more casual air, you can get away with adding a crisp T-shirt and some cool sneakers to the mix for a more fun, relaxed look. Just don't wear anything too heavy -- everyone wants to look breezy and light at a summer wedding.

Going on a Date?
Is the date fancy? Relaxed? Mix and match both elements. Jeans, a light T-shirt, and a cotton blazer could work great for a nighttime drinks-and-dinner meet-up. It's casual but suggests you put a little effort into your night out with a potentially special someone. Shorts, espadrilles, and a light cotton T-shirt would be perfect for a daytime picnic date. And, of course, always wear sunscreen!

Polo Shirts Are a Shortcut
Rejuvenate your wardrobe with a bunch of polos in a variety of colors, from light blue to pink and red. Always versatile, these shirts can be worn with shorts on the weekends or with dress-up pants for work. This way, you'll never be at a loss as far as what to wear.

Be Shady
Sunglasses are, of course, essential in the summer. Make sure to pick a pair that fits your personality, and take time to find a pair that flatters your particular facial bone structure. How do the frames rest on the bridge of your nose? Do they compliment your cheekbones, or do they make you look buggy? With a little trial and error, you'll be able to find the perfect pair.

Socks and Sandals
Are a big mistake!
