    On his EP Black & Gold, Sam Sparro, a 24-year-old native Australian living in Los Angeles, isn't shy about letting his influences shine through on six smooth, Curtis Mayfield', Chaka Khan', and Parliament-inspired electro-funk tracks. The title track describes 'looking up into the night sky and feeling like a tiny speck of dust,' says Sparro, taking a break from recording his first full-length album, due out in early 2008.
