Oh, Mary. For gays everywhere, there have always been Marys. Some of us even used to call each other 'Mary.' But for most of us, you were the first. And now you're coming to Broadway, where you and your parrot umbrella will fly directly over our heads! The excitement is palpable. But, Mary, while we sit here on hold with Ticketmaster, we can't help but reflect on just how gay your show is gonna be. You probably haven't thought of yourself that way, what with all of your tea parties (gay, you know) and trilling with birds (really gay).

Sure, we love all those Desperate Housewives, but when it comes to sass, no one dishes it out like Susan Mayer's daughter, Julie, played by the delightful Andrea Bowen, who is rather sassy herself. At just 16, the young actress has done Broadway (Les Miserables, The Sound of Music, Jane Eyre), film (she even voiced Bambi's girlfriend in the Disney flick's sequel), and, of course, television. Now she's tackling the third season of Housewives and going back to her roots'literally. I feel like Julie is the unsung hero of the show. She gets all the good lines.

The world of male supermodels, though well oiled, is a small one: Marcus Schenkenberg and Mark Wahlberg pretty much exhaust the A-list. With several major ad campaigns and a high-profile movie role, 24-year-old Jamie Dornan may be ready to join this exclusive men's club, but for now the Belfast native is having none of it. 'Me, a supermodel? Nah. I mean, people aren't really interested in male models that much, are they?' he asks.

It's a wonderfully evocative image of the glamour of a party era: Truman Capote casually lounges'sans trousers'at a gala benefit. Photographer (and infamous Jackie O. stalker) Ron Galella's new book, Disco Years (powerHouse, $65), features dozens of candid photos of the era's most glamorous fashionistas, stylish socialites, and outlandish artists who exemplified the delicious decadence of the 'Me Decade,' from NYC to L.A. Who's here? Everyone who was anyone: Liza, Warhol, Raquel, Cher, Bowie, Dolly, Halston' Is Debra Winger being carried in or out of the Cannery Row wrap party?

Alec Mapa is pretty damn funny. If you haven't already seen him on UPN's Half and Half, as Gabrielle's buddy on Desperate Housewives, or in the film Connie and Carla, well, then you may not have seen him. Actually Mapa has more credits than the Lord of the Rings trilogy, and you have a chance to catch 'America's Gaysian Sweetheart' performing live'if you happen to be in Los Angeles September 28 or 29. Either way, here Mapa gives you a little sampling, talking about fighting Wilson Cruz, getting peed on, and being impersonated on MySpace.
