Queer Comics In NYC

Monday, March 30: Gay comedians are some of the best ambassadors in our quest for equality. After all, once you’ve shared a laugh, it's a lot easier to get someone to pay attention to your perspective. In his book Out on the Edge: America’s Rebel Comics, comedian Mike Player -- director of the queer comedy festival OutLaugh! -- takes us behind the scenes to reveal the inner workings of some of today's best gay comics. Tonight, Player joins Bob Smith, Michele Balan, Jaffe Cohen, and other contributors to the book to discuss their personal experiences as out comedians. Check out these hilarious takes from OutLaugh! before heading over to Barnes & Noble (Broadway and 82nd Street) in New York City at 7:00 PM EDT to hear from the comics themselves. And, to sweeten the deal, admission is free. -- Joseph Hassan
