A friend of the family (well, OK then, Nick Denton if you must know) just alerted us to this terrific little blog, l'ombrello, a magpie's assortment of photos, found youtube clips, and the odd shot of Gumby. We especially enjoyed stumbling on this photo of PeeWee and Cyndi Lauper playing golf. Like, in a million years?! And why are photos of kitties always so damn funny?

Marc Jacobs, and his business partner Robert Duffy, aren't going nowhere. With Marc's eponymous line expanding rapidly, including the news that there would be an uptown location opening on Madison Avenue this year, and his diffusion line Marc by Marc Jacobs hitting its ten year anniversary, you would think the man is on top of the world. But WAIT!

Looks like the kiddies over at French Vogue decided to play it safe and promote fashion director Emmanuelle Alt to head of the magazine now that Carine Roitfeld is on her way out. Alt has established her influence on the magazine, so there shouldn't be a huge change in visual panache nor content. Whew, looks like Condé dodged the "lets do something interesting" bullet here and just decided to have someone just stick to the formula of success that someone else laid out. Le sigh, that's how they do it over there in the city of lights, we suppose.

"Generally, the fashion on the People’s [Choice Awards'] sapphire carpet offered much on top and bottom, with very little of interest in between. We're getting more than a little peeved on this side of the Atlantic seeing as Phillip Lim just announced that he would be deferring to Paris to show his menswear line. Lim will be joining friends like Adam Kimmel, Yigal Azroël, Thom Browne and Rick Owens who all started here in New York and then jumped ship.

Seriously, it feels like every day there is at least one new fashion collaboration announced. What started as a novel idea a few years back has now spread and become quotidian news that's rarely newsworthy. Not that it's always bad -- sometimes when two things come together, it just makes sense.

So, as many of you know, Michelle Obama has been a delightful, and fashionable, presence in the White House since her hubby was inaugurated as Prez. There are websites and blogs dedicated to her every sartorial whim and whether she be wearing an Alaïa skirt, a J. Crew cardigan or a thrifted gown you can bet that someone is chatting about it. And we love her for it, even if it does come across as slightly sexist.

Joe Zee's new reality show seemed to have been accidentally leaked online today.

Is Urban Outfitters looking to buy J. Crew?

Ebay is going to start mimicking magazines to sell its wares.
