We're not going to pull any punches with this. We've never been huge followers of womenswear label Ports 1961. Sorry, but it's true. That's not to say it isn't a great brand with terrific looking clothes, we've just never paid it much mind. 'I'll go through life either first class or third,' he once said, 'but never in second.' By the time he died in Jamaica in 1973, Sir Coward had ensured it would be first all the way.

For little girls (and gay boys) all across the country who leaf through the pages of their Vogue's and Elle's and GQ's and Out's, they must be thinking to themselves that to be a fashion editor is a life of unbridled glamour, endless fetes filled with decadent canapes, nightly excursions to the hottest boites, and of course the shopping. As in the bottomless bank accounts and the day-long sprees at Barneys and Bergdorfs and Jeffreys and Opening Ceremony and the like. Well, kiddies, we hate to break it to you, but it just ain't so.
