When this juicy piece of information landed in our inbox, we have to admit it made our hearts sing, if only for a moment. A nasty wind is whipping around the gray and dismal city of New York, and summer -- and any related ideas thereof -- seem a million years away. So to hear one of the most summer-y thing we can think of (Fire Island, naturally) brought a smile to our winter-weathered faces and melted our frosty hearts -- just a tad.

As long as celebrities have existed, they've had a close relationship with the world of fashion. Most recently they've been "designing" their very own collections (or, more accurately, lending their names to clothing designs in hopes their celebrity will help yield profits). Some celebrities, though, seem to take fashion a bit more seriously than your average run of mill starlets that do some front row sitting and paparazzi baiting. Kanye West, while a definite front row fixture, seems to be a serious lover of all things fashion-related.

This was a busy weekend in Paris, busier than most with the media (us included, obviously) all a-twitter (literally and figuratively) over disgraced designer John Galliano's eponymous show which showed yesterday afternoon. While at this point it's hard to look beyond the echos of the looming scandal and actually focus on the show and clothing, the toned-down presentation was met with generally positive reviews.
