Of all the Milanese labels, its an indisputable fact that Prada is looked to as the most directional and forward thinking. So it came with a bit of sadness that, while the collection was definitely not bad, it lacked the innovation and freshness we so often connect to the label. There were seventies references (which Miuccia did for fall 2010), but with more pattern and texture. Suede was used in heavy amounts as  was a recurring diamond theme.

Oh, Opening Ceremony. How do you do it? You get the two hottest models in town for your look book (model of the moment Lindsey Wixom and hottie Paolo Anchisi) to model their latest downtown cool offerings, but to add icing to the cake is the fact that photographer Terry Richardson shot it. The spring collection is a little more toned down than their usual quirky offerings, instead focusing on nautical knits, ikat prints and a purple suit (OK, so they may not have toned down everything).

Burberry, while consistently desirable, is so self-referential that its rare to see a show that raises an eyebrow. Let's admit it, while Christopher Bailey is an incredibly talented designer and so thoroughly understands how to make a heritage brand relevant to young people, most of his collections are based on the iconic Burberry trench. Hey, if it ain't broke, don't fix it. But the elements must have been on Bailey's mind for fall, as there was hardly a traditional trench in site.

Vogue's Lauren Santo Domingo (pictured, left) has a sick house. No big surprise there.

Speaking of Vogue, Kristen Stewart looks all sorts of weird when glammed up

Neil Barrett has a longstanding reputation in the fashion industry. He's worked with everyone from Prada to Gucci before launching his eponymous label. This season he's taken a decidedly oppositional stand with color juxtaposing crisp, clean winter whites with his signature rumpled leathers.

Last season, Marni really blew our socks off. The subtle, color-blocking was subtle, masculine, wearable and versatile. The perfect example of how making a statement does not mean being loud and brash. Designer Consuelo Castiglioni continued her theme of functional, covetable clothing, this time in with a somber palette.
