The spring-summer Prada oxfords with chunky, thick soles reminiscent of creepers have already sold out at Manhattan stores and there is a waiting list for the next shipment. Oh, did we mention they're $800?

We reported earlier today that Daphne Guinness had some very pointed things to say about designer Victoria Beckham, and they weren't so nice. But it seems that this is all wrong. Daphne Guinness (@TheRealDaphne) took to Twitter to clear the air. Her message (one of many addressing the alleged muckraking) is below:

As much as we love fashion, we know that there are some men out there who want to look good but just can't be bothered with spending a Saturday trapped in a department store. Or perhaps you're a guy who doesn't mind shopping, but you're just too busy to spend countless hours at boutiques all across town on the prowl for the perfect outfit, fighting throngs of other patrons, waiting in line to try something on or dealing with the whole melee that now accompanies your average trip to the mall. "[Victoria Beckham is] an ugly pig! Downbeat, miserable and awful. Of course she's going to make money - she's backed by Simon Fuller. I don't have anyone! She annoys the sh*t out of me."

Well today is a Vogue cover kind of day, isn't it?

Thanks to the fabulous internet and Twitter, we've got a sneak peek at next month's Vogue, featuring cover girl Rihanna. Loving this picture, especially the blindingly red hair and sexy/gorgeous dress -- it's one of the best covers we've seen in a long time. As is customary for Anna and friends, this is the "Shape" issue -- and Rihanna has got the curves to prove it.

Really? No, REALLY? After all this hooplah, the drama, the theatrics, the firing and the subsequent trip to rehab the gentleman who initially accused John Galliano of verbal assault is now reneging on his original story. In an interview with Le Parisien accuse Philippe Virgiti now admits that he no longer believes that Galliano is anti-semetic, but believes that he is "sick" and was provoked.

It's crazy how quickly the social stigma around glasses has so totally reversed itself in the past few years. Once the calling card of dweebs and social outcasts, today one's popularity seems to measured by the girth of their glasses' frames. But with such social recognition, glasses got pricey -- of course. Nowadays a trendy pair can set you back a couple of hundred dollars. And as usual, big-name designers are producing them at record speeds and with astronomical price-tags. Sad, really.
