Truman Says

In addition to our regular roster of fashion websites that we adore, the home decorating blog Apartment Therapy has a very special place in our hearts. Everything from their home tours to renovation 'before and afters' are fabulous, and oftentimes informative. But rarely do they touch upon the world of style and clothing.

It would be hard to think of a designer more synonymous with Italian fashion than Mr. Giorgio Armani. His company, which was founded in 1975, is a global empire that continually and consistently presents sleek, sexy men's and women's wear. From 1987 to 1997 the company published Emporio Armani Magazine -- under the art direction of Rosanna Armani -- an experimental publication that dabbled in the worlds of art, fashion and culture.

Male model Eric Zentner (pictured above) -- who has worked with the likes of Versace, H&M and Macy's as well as walked in shows for Marc Jacobs, Louis Vuitton and Gucci -- was killed late last week in a hit-and-run accident in California. Zentner, 30, was on his way to visit his mother when he ran out of gas and stepped outside of his car, which he had pulled over to the side of the road.

While catching up on some internet reading over the weekend, we came across this post on GQ's fashion blog The GQ Eye. The short item features the Nike Air Force Hi 3 Denver Nugget a classic basketball shoe with a bit of kicky color. Ok, so it is slathered in rainbow flavor, but what do you think of GQ's caption: "Lamest or coolest gay shoe ever?" We're not sure, but we think we're offended.

Some of fashion's hottest insiders show us what they wore to prom. The best, by far, though, is Betsey Johnson (pictured left).

Adam Lambert was not a good party guest at Lady Gaga's birthday shin-dig. We sense an impending bitch fight or duet. Hopefully both.

Patrice Lataillade, who had served as the chief financial officer of Marc Jacobs' label (owned by luxury powerhouse LVMH) since 2002 was fired last year. But now, Lataillade, who is straight and married, is now suing the company saying that Robert Duffy (pictured at right with Sofia Coppola and Marc Jacobs, when he was a bit pudgier, at the 2005 Out 100 party) -- the company's president and Marc's right-hand man -- created a "hostile work environment".

Editrix Anna Wintour has a well-known aesthetic when it comes to the celebrities she features in her magazine. Usually they're gorgeous, uber-successful, stylish and do-gooders (or Blake Lively). But recently, perhaps in an effort to move magazines or to freshen the roster of expected Vogue faces, Wintour and crew have been featuring some younger, more unexpected choices (Lady Gaga, Kristen Stewart and Rihanna have covered the last three issues).

Earlier this week the classic-but-cool J. Crew showed us what to expect come next fall (although we are in serious need of some spring sunshine at this point). Expectedly, the collection was pretty superb and offered up something for everyone -- from slim suits to casual outwear and denim. Head menswear designer Frank Muytjens looked to classic imagery of mechanics, foremen and riveters as captured by photographer Lewis Hines.

It goes without saying that we are ravenous consumers of magazines, especially the women's fashion rags. And for female fashion there is no tome more prestigious than Vogue. And since we've carefully examined every page of every issue, we know all the ins and outs of Anna's monthly love child from masthead to back cover. If you're as obsessed as we are, you may notice that there are certain poses that models MUST master to be featured in the pages of the illustrious title.
