 In response to the ongoing movement of chunky, thick-framed plastic shades, designers have offered up a streamlined counter in the timeless aviator. But the wire-framed standby has been rendered with a kicky twist: tinted glass of varying hues, adding a chic new twist to seeing the world through rose-colored glasses.

As Steve Jobs and his harem of nerds pat themselves on the back for finally releasing the white model of the ubiquitious iPhone, we found ourselves scratching our heads. The unstoppable company is happy with just two colors -- and dull ones at that? Think of all the colors out there....and all that we're only given the option of two?

Japanese-based retail monster Uniqlo (which is also slowly taking hold of the US market) and the Japanese arm of the publishing powerhouse Condé Nast have joined forces to help raise funds for the Japanese Red Cross to help the ongoing relief efforts to provide aid to those affected by the earthquake and subsequent tsunami that devastated the country back in March.

As you are (hopefully) already aware, the rapture did not take place this past Saturday, despite the certainty of fanatical zealots. But, something even more earth-shatteringly unfathomable did occur. Something so bizarre and inconceivable that even we could have never thought it in the realms of possibility -- not even in our darkest, most subversive fantasies or the most far-reaching depths of our imaginations.
