Truman Says

Victoria Beckham may have just given birth to daughter Harper, but she's not about to let that deter her from showing her self-named fashion line at New York's impending fashion week. In fact, she's not only showing, but she's also determined to reclaim her notoriously svelte physique before all eyes are on her for her annual presentation.

It's no secret that Opening Ceremony has made it their mission to cultivate a store that serves as a cool, downtown counterpoint to stuffy uptown luxury boutiques. To aid in this assignment, they've wisely set their eyes on arbiters of taste and style to help proselytize their nonchalant sense of sartorial whimsy. For example, Chloë Sevigny has become the virtual spokesperson for the store with her ongoing partnership with the collab-crazy brand.

Country singer Chely Wright was married to her longtime girlfriend this weekend -- in what looks like matching wedding dresses. Congrats, ladies!

Lady Gaga's younger sister Natali Germanotta is trying her hand at clothing design, with a gig creating costumes for an off-Broadway show already lined up.

Ever since the John Galliano mêlée earlier this year, which got him booted from the house of Dior, the fashion world has been waiting with baited breath to hear who would step in to replace him. Madame Chanel would be proud, we think.

What we love most about The New York Times is that they aren't afraid to tackle high-brow and low, especially since they unleashed their usual columnists to a bunch of meta-blogs. The perfect example is the way celebrated critic Cathy Horyn hits the ground running on her On The Runway blog. During Fashion Week, she uses it to share cute Tweets, quick thoughts, random moments and the like before her fuller, and more thoughtful proper reviews that run in the actual paper (as well as online).

Anna Wintour may have gotten on the Glee train a little late, but  now that she's onboard, she seems to be enjoying the ride. Not only did she have the cast of New Directions (plus Blaine, minus Mercedes and Santana) star in a spread for her illustrious, ten-trillion page tome that is the September issue, she's enlisted Fox and the cast to help promote her holiday of consumerism on television too.

While Carine Roitfeld's departure from her position as EIC of Vogue Paris sent tongues a wagging less than a year ago, girlfriend has been busier, and more visible than ever. Her latest endeavor was to style in Barneys' fall campaign, and she enlisted the help of her family and friends, and even stepped in front of the lens herself (above, in Rick Owens -- werq).
