The fashion scene in Finland lives in the shadow of fellow Nordic countries Sweden and Denmark, but young designers like Heikki Salonen (formerly at Erdem and Diesel) are changing that. He has his own eponymous menswear line that experiments with textures and patterns. He's also joined MM6, so expect big things from him.
They're known for the Nylite (the original nylon sneaker born in 1964 in Tretorn's Swedish factories), but this footwear brand has expanded into sandals, galoshes, boots, and casual shoes in bold colors and designs.
This Swedish brand may have gotten famous for its can't-be-missed Fedora cap (considered a classic, but it continues to produce great garments rooted in traditional (meaning modern) Scandinavian style.
Since it specializes in outdoor equipment, it's easy to think of this as Sweden's Timberland--complete with earthy apparel fur-lined, down feather coats (the name means arctic fox). Most young people swoon for their iconic backpacks, but there's plenty more stylish comfort to discover.
Danish brand with a Spanish name is headed by husband & wife duo Adam Bach and Rikke Overgaard. Their leather bags are manufactured in Turkey using Italian fabrics and leather are drool-worthy. Check out the fabric lines, as well, like this briefcase.
Streetwear never goes out of style and this Danish brand offers casual clothing with slim European fits. Check out its "dressy" bomber that, for example, combines the benefits of a blazer with something a little more rock 'n' roll.
