A Tribute To Missoni

Ottavio-home

A look back at masterful knitwork of the Italian fashion house

Ottavio Missoni died peacefully in his sleep last Thursday, aged 92. An accomplished athlete (he competed at the 1948 London Olympics as a member of the 400-metre hurdles team), Missoni founded his own knitwear workshop in 1953 with his wife Rosita. Sixty years on, the label remains famous for its colorful and intricate zig-zag patterns, and its creator lives on as one of the most stylish men ever. As Ottavio Missoni's funerals were being held today in the Italian town of Gallate, we look back at Missoni's best knits from past collections.
