Rag & Bone: Technologic

New York Fashion Week is off to a great start with Rag & Bone's new Fall collection

There was a quiet gasp in the audience when the first model walked across the stage at the Rag & Bone menswear presentation last night. A bespoke video installation captured each motion at 1,000 frames per second and decomposed the silhouettes into a mesmerizing digital echo.

David Neville and Marcus Wainwright, the Creative Directors of the brand, have made a habit of adding a post-modern twist to their English sartorial heritage. This season, the Rag & Bone man is a tech-savvy raver with an impeccable sense of color coordination.

The collection opened with a soft palette of mineral blue and metallic grey, and evolved into earthy shades of olive green, mustard yellow and deep blue. Playing with texture associations, the designers matched hounstooth and prince-of-wales patterns on double-breasted coats and wool sweaters with technical nylons on tailored pants and jackets. With such sharp proportions and elegant combinations, Rag & Bone fashions a fresh contrast between tradition and innovation, and inspires a highly desirable wardrobe for next Fall.
