The designer talks about his spring 2013 collection.

Out: What was the inspiration behind the collection this year?

Bumsuk Choi: The inspiration came from The Last Lumberjack, a documentary from the Chinese filmmaker Yu Guangyi

What sets General Idea apart from others?

One of the strongest aspects of our collections is using a good combination of colors. We are very strong with color blocking and fabric play.

Why lumberjacks? What there a significant reason why you decided to use this theme?
GI SS13 channels the state of mind of the last lumberjacks; their toughness and passion coupled with their loneliness, as their way of life is dramatically altered.

What was your favorite part about showing this collection?
The venue and the collection went very well together. Also, the music suited the collection well, so everything came together to create a comprehensive show.

What is your favorite part about fashion week?
Fashionable street style and the after party!

Where do you see General Idea going over the next few years?
We are going to keep doing what we are doing and trying to maintain our signature look, so people know what General Idea's signature style is. We are focusing on high-end street wear.

What advice do you have for people wanting to break into the fashion business?
Patience is the most important thing in this industry. If you believe in what you are doing right now, you have to keep trying and trying.
