First Look: Prada's Fall 2012 Campaign

A quartet of Hollywood actors star in Prada's latest campaign.

Attendees of Miuccia Prada's fall 2012 menswear show were in for a surprise when, mixed in with the usual array of models, some of Tinseltown's most illustrious names took to the runway. Four of the actors--Gary Oldman, Willem Dafoe, Jamie Bell, and Garrett Hedlund--stayed on to star in the brand's latest advertising campaign. Shot by David Sims, the image takes their combined star power and imbues it with a regal, Edwardian spirit, evocative of classical portraiture. "Each leading man plays a different archetype, layering codes of dress in a subtle parody of power and role-play," reads the press release. "Stylish men off screen as well as on, they are some of the most iconic screen characters of our time, as well as influential icons of fashion. Together, the four actors, each at a different point in their careers, represent a cross-generational broadening of Prada menswear." This follows two seasons in which the company has opted to use celebrities as opposed to models--with Tobey Maguire posing for fall 2011 and Michael Pitt in spring 2012.
