Because Karl Lagerfeld is possibly the only person on Earth busier and more productive than James Franco, he was in Cannes for the fancy-pants film festival, just weeks after presenting his gardening in Versailles resort collection for Chanel. The designer attended amfAR's Cinema Against AIDS gala (where he's auctioning off a lead role in a short film he will direct) so he gamely walked the red carpet. New York magazine questioned him about fellow participant Heidi Klum's decision to give a massage to the highest bidder. When asked if he would ever deign to knead the knotty back of a lowly pleb, the ponytailed maestro quipped, "No. I'm not John Travolta." Oooh, burn!
