To celebrate the opening of their yearly exhibition, The Metropolitan Museum's Costume Institute--and Vogue--throw what is generally accepted as the fashion party of the year. It's certainly not a scuzzy hipster after-hours rumble that proliferate during Fashion Week, au contraire, it's an incredibly classy bash, featuring the top names in the fashion world wearing couture-worthy ensembles. For the upcoming show, "Schiaparelli and Prada: Impossible Conversations," you can expect the likes of Anna Wintour, Miuccia Prada, Jack and Lazaro of Proenza Schouler, co-chair Carey Mulligan, Joseph Altuzarra, and many other designers, models, and celebrities to mug for the paparazzi.
Usually, you have to be an industry power player or an incredibly well-connected socialite or "It" girl to gain entry, and while that still remains the case, those who want a small taste of the glamour, in real time, can watch the proceedings from the red carpet online. Writer William Norwich and model Elettra Wiedemann will be reporting on the arrivals and interviewing guests, and the event will be shown on Vogue.com, MetMuseum.org, and Amazon.com (Amazon is a sponsor of the event and show).
