Gay marriage advocates look beyond New York's state lines.

Last night, at Calvin Klein's starkly minimalist Madison Avenue flagship store, celebrities and fashion industry notables converged to continue the fight for gay marriage. Hosted by The Human Rights Campaign, the small gathering seeks to follow up the the success of their initiative "New Yorkers for Marriage Equality" by expanding the scope of the project to now include the entire nation. The newest project--Americans for Marriage Equality--is taking the crusade for equal marriage rights to a new level in hopes of making same-sex marriage a nationwide achievement.

Big names included the luminous Julianne Moore--the first iconic New Yorker to lend her voice to the campaign--wearing a wooly beige Calvin Klein Collection shift and white coat, as was Vogue's Anna Wintour and Hamish Bowles, Courtney Love, Speaker of the New York City Council Christine Quinn, and athletes/allies Hudson Taylor and Sean Avery.
