Daily Crush: Denim Jacquard Jacket by Calvin Klein

Calvin Klein men's creative director Italo Zucchelli is always one of the most forward-thinking designers in the business. Since the denim trend isn't fading away any time soon, Zucchelli came up with a new interpretation on a wardrobe staple, the jeans jacket. However, this one isn't quite what it seems. To replicate the worn-out vintage look of a good denim jacket, Zucchelli developed his own pattented technique for the spring 2016 runway using a placed jacquard fabric that looks like denim, but is much lighter. The woven effect of the fading has to be implemented in very specific areas on each piece, so the process is painstaking, making each jacket unique. Plus, it keeps things breathable, and will carry over onto the next season, as the same technique was used extensively in the latest fall collection. So if you want to look as cool as model Alessio Pozzi (pictured, above), this is where you should start.
