"The short-pant is a terrible fashion choice," Winston Churchill once said, clearly not anticipating that many decades later, American designer Thom Browne would turn the cropped suit into a summer staple. Since then, the length of our pants has continued to shrink, a trend endorsed this season by Kim Jones at Louis Vuitton and by Stefano Pilatti for his debut collection at Ermenegildo Zegna. Seldom seen off the court, extra-short shorts are now becoming perfectly acceptable on the street, offering a youthful update on the "smart" bermuda shorts our elders have been rocking since the 1930s. Leg lovers, brace yourselves.
