The multimedia artist plays a 'supernatural professor' who drills his pupils on the master-slave dialectic

In a recent interview with Out, multimedia artist M. Lamar discussed his "negro gothic sensibility" and the fact that white men have a "pathologic" obsession with black male sexuality, stating: "I'm very interested in white men and their preoccupation with certain kinds of stereotypes about black men and black men's genitalia."

Although Lamar is the twin brother of actress and trans advocate Laverne Cox (who is featured on the cover of Time magazine's June 9 issue), he wants to be known for his own subversive art, rather than his small role in the first season of Orange Is the New Black as Sophia's pre-transition (and pre-prison) alter-ego. And "Badass Nigga: the Charlie Looker of Psalm Zero Remix," the new video and single from Brooklyn-based musician and performer, is certain to do that.

We have the exclusive on the video, also directed by M. Lamar, in which two very pale white boys are placed inside a pillory and drilled on Hegel's master-slave dialectic, The Cornel West Reader, and Toni Morrison's Beloved. Lamar tells us that he cast himself as a kind of "supernatural professor/disciplinarian/Pro Dom. He's appearing and disappearing from these scenes of subjection, discovering that his "freedom is not in dominating these white men but in walking away from the very notion of domination removing himself from this scene."

It's a lot to digest, but we think you're gonna want to take a look. Just be warned: The potentially NSFW video is not for the faint of heart.
