Okereke urges Banks, “Don't lose heart, you still have it in you.”

Kele Okereke, lead singer of Bloc Party, has written a letter supporting Azealia Banks, whose long awaited debut album, Broke With Expensive Tastes, was meant to leak today. Titled "Screw You All, I'm Still Rooting For Azealia Banks" and published today on the UK iteration of Noisey, Vice's music blog, Okereke writes that despite her Twitter spats and the fact that BWET has been delayed many times over, he still believes in her.

Okereke expressed sympathy for Banks' current situation with her label--she recently tweeted that she was "literally begging to be dropped from Universal"--writing, "I understand that it's got to suck to be told you have to sit on music for over two years, while a 'group of old white guys' who don't understand your craft, are making decisions about its commercial viability."

Comparing her current state of ill fame with the public to that of Kanye's post the Taylor Swift incident (after which he put out My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy, a record many regard as his best ever) Kele urged Azealia to "get this record out, make these summer shows the best they can be and then get your head down and start again from scratch."

As of writing, Broke With Expensive Tastes has not leaked.
