Although How I Met Your Mother had a gay actor (Neil Patrick Harris) playing horndog Barney for nine seasons, it seems the spinoff, titled How I Met Your Dad, will have a gay actor playing a gay best friend.
HIMYD will star indie film darling Greta Gerwig as Sally and Deadline.com reports that Drew Tarver, a relative unknown actor and a veteran of Uprights Citizens Brigade and the Groundlings, scored the CBS comedy's gay character. He'll play Todd, Sally's best friend and roommate from college who is now married to her brother.
He was recently discovered at a CBS Diversity Showcase in January and was subsequently signed to a CBS talent holding deal. His previous credits include Animal Practice and Big Time Rush. Check out this Funny or Die video he starred in below:
