Once Evander Holyfield was a big shot boxer. Then he got hit in the head a lot, made some cash, and pretty much disappeared. Until he needed more cash, which is the only reason anyone would sign up to participate in Celebrity Big Brother UK. He's American, and some time ago Big Brother apparently determined that being racist, antigay, and generally awful wasn't reason to be booted from the house. Holyfield decided that being a born again Christian meant it was cool to tell a housemate, in a quiet, personal conversation (that is being shared with the whole of the UK., and the globe via the Internet) that being gay is just like being born with a birth defect.
"If you're born and your leg would turn this way, what do you do, you go to the doctor and get it fixed that way," Holyfield said. My new insurance policy doesn't cover having one's homosexuality removed and reattached in the proper position.
OutSports notes that "Holyfield, the great defender of right and wrong, has been married three times and fathered 11 children from six different women."
So some 20th century caveman has-been thinks you're a birth defect. Important? Probably not in the grand scheme of things, but in the event you want to let him know how you feel about it, he can be Tweeted at here. Make note of the enormous irony that his profile page shows him fake boxing with Nelson Mandela, champion of human rights.
