Three cast members of Ryan Murphy's American Horror Story series are featured in Tyler Shields' new book, The Dirty Side Of Glamour (available now). The provocateur, who has never shied away from controversy takes full advantage of his bewitched subjects, such as Zachary Quinto, who strips down and suds up in the shot above.
As for AHS newcomer Emma Roberts, she writes (in a forward for the book) about the dramatic lengths Sheilds goes to get his photo (not the one seen below).
He was doing a shoot in downtown Los Angeles, and I went along for fun, not really planning on doing anything in particular. Before I knew what was happening, there I was on top of a bridge wearing a black party dress and Christian Louboutins. I couldn't breathe. The height, the heels--there was no way I was moving. "I can't," I kept telling Tyler over and over again. "I just can't."
"You can, and you're going to," he said. This was a fact, not a plea. And then, right before I could even decide whether I wanted to jump off a bridge for Tyler Shields, he pushed me. He told his friend to let go of my legs, and I fell. And there's the picture to prove it.
Roberts' boyfriend and costar, Evan Peters, was shot by Shields in 2011 when he was first cast in AHS and quickly was becoming one to watch in Hollywood. Shields has an eye for attracting provocative subjects, including Josh Hutcherson, Lindsay Lohan and Heather Morris. The photo below is an outtake of a series that is also featured in the book. The one selected for the book is much sexier.
