Australian filmmaker Tonnette Stanford released two pilot episodes for her new web series Love Bytes. Back in September, we posted about the show's hilarious trailers and were pleased to find the full-length episodes lived up to the hype.
To refresh your memory, the series follows three roommates and their sordid experiences dating online. "Herpes of the Lips," the first pilot, tackles what's become a digital and universal dilemma: fake profile pictures. Michael thinks he's meeting a sexy Bollywood model for a drink, but is unpleasantly surprised. Lucky for him, his cold sore-cursed roommate comes to save the day....and leaves a lasting (and contagious) impression.
Love Bytes hits its stride in the second pilot, "Justin Beaver." What happens when a precious family heirloom gets lost in the most intimate of places? Yes, it's exactly what you think. Love Bytes turns up the campy fun in this episode, while redeeming its flawed, but all the more human, characters.
